Located in Winchester and Manchester Tennessee and established in 1990, Thomas Ore Land Surveying & Engineering Services is a family owned and operated design firm providing support in Middle Tennessee for residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects. We service Marion, Grundy, Coffee, Franklin, Lincoln, Moore, Warren, and Bedford Counties.
Tom Ore, P.E., R.L.S.
Tom Ore was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. After serving his country during the Vietnam War, he attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he studied Civil and Electrical Engineering. After graduation, Tom and his wife Donna moved to Franklin County, Tennessee where Tom began his engineering career at Arnold Engineering Development Center. In 1989 received his Professional Engineering License (TN License #20447) and in 1990 became a Registered Land Surveyor (TN License #1610). Since that time Tom has been offering Land Surverying and Engineering Services in the Middle Tennessee area, and has supported to a wide variety of projects in both the private and public sectors.
In addition to his expertise in Land Development projects, Tom has also served on the Franklin County Planning Commission for over 15 years and is currently the Planning Commission Chairman. His tenure as a member of the Planning Commission has provided him with an in depth understanding of zoning issues, which is a critical part of the Land Development process.

Thomas Matthew Ore was born and raised in Winchester, TN. Thomas started working on surveying projects with his father when he was about 12 years old. Like his father, he was fascinated by the work and decided that he would grow up to be a Land Surveyor. After graduating from Franklin County High School in 2001, he enrolled in East Tennessee State University where he earned a B.S. Degree in Land Surveying and Mapping Science in 2006. During his college career, Thomas spent two summers apprenticing for the North Carolina Department of Transportation Location Surveys Unit. He also spent another summer apprenticing for Travis Pruitt & Associates, which is one of the largest Land Development firms in the country based out of Atlanta, GA. After graduating from ETSU, he became a registered surveyor in the State of Tennessee (TN R.L.S. # 2594) at the age of 25, making him one of the youngest surveyors in the state to become licensed.
Thomas has brought a new era of experience to the family business. His eagerness to work in different business settings has provided him with the opportunity to learn the most up-to-date technologies available to the surveying industry. Since his return home, Thomas Ore Land Surveying & Engineering has evolved into a technologically advanced design firm employing GPS and Robotic Total Station measuring equipment.
